Heather Brown

Heather Brown has spent 8 years with the Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s performing tap ensemble, BAM!, under the direction of Lane Alexander, and is currently a freelance artist in Chicago. Heather has performed at The International Dance Festival in Beijing, China, the Barcelona Tap Festival in Spain, and throughout Chicago and the Midwest in such venues as the Harris Theatre and the Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago’s Millenium Park.

She was the first tap choreographer asked to create a world premiere for Webster University.

Heather teaches master classes, private lessons and workshops as a guest artist around St. Louis and at the Tap Studio in Chicago. She has also had the opportunity to teach tap internationally – Reus, Spain and Barcelona, Spain (Tap on Barcelona) – and at Dance Masters of Wisconsin.

As an individual artist, Heather has also also performed at The Joyce Theatre in NYC with the NYC Tap Festival. She has appeared at local jazz clubs in St. Louis as a soloist and as a guest artist with local dance companies.

She graduated from Webster University in St. Louis where she received her B.A. in Marketing and a minor in dance.
